1982, John Carpenter released the film that is arguably as big a masterpiece as 1978’s Halloween. This film follows a group of American researchers in Antarctica who are faced with a shape-shifting extraterrestrial creature. Part of the brilliance of this film is how it challenges the audience to figure out which is the greatest threat.... Is it the other, or is those around us?

Good.... Good...
We have reached the end our reviews of the original Star Wars trilogy. Gone is the icy tundra of Hoth, and welcome to the Forrest Moon of Endor (featuring Ewoks). George Lucas lightens the mood of the grim story that our heroes were caught in the last time.
The Rebels try to stop the construction of Death Star II (or Deuce Star, if you will), while Luke is caught in a battle for his soul by trying to bring Vader back from the Dark Side.
Will your hosts give this movie a positive or negative review? Come join us on the Deuce Star to find out.

Do The Right Thing (1989)

We figured it was only right during the planet's hottest summer to go back to 1989 and re-visit Spike Lee's masterpiece.
Do The Right Thing is a film that has just as much cultural, social and political relevance as it did 30 years ago. It is a stylish, eye-opening portrait of the Black experience in America.
Police brutality, climate change, gentrification, and race relations are all explored as we review this film to show us how much of these issues we still deal with today.... And that's the truth, Ruth.

Best one in the Series?
If you ask Angel it is. Empire sits in rare company with Films like Aliens, The Godfather Part II, Bride of Frankenstein, Terminator 2 and The Dark Knight as film sequels that are considered better than the Original. While Javi disagrees, it's easy to argue its merit as a high watermark in this franchise.
Between the iconic AT-ATs, The Imperial March Darth Vader theme, and the shocking twist that no millennial or Gen-Z viewers don't already know going in, and the introduction of Yoda, this movie expands the already captivating world of A New Hope. Join your hosts and we review this awesome film and discuss how Solo and Episode III help provide new context for some of the ideas explored.

A New Hope
At last we have arrived at the film that started it all. In 1977, visionary filmmaker George Lucas introduced us to a Galaxy far, far, away. Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Princess Leia all come together to try and change the tide in the rebellion against the oppressive Galactic Empire and its enforcers Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin.
This week your hosts jump in the trash compactor and describe their experience with this landmark film, and discuss the new context that is added to it by all the prequels we have reviewed.
