This is the end, friends...
Not really. But it is the reboot of the 1980s classic Horror franchise that was headed by Chucky the killer doll. Gone are the days of a Voodoo practicing serial killer inhabiting a Good Guys doll, and we have arrived at the cold, futuristic modern world where we want to rely on AI devices to run our homes, our mobile devices, and invade our lives.
Your hosts discuss the themes and changes in the 2019 update to the horror classic.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

I've got a GOOD feeling about this.
This week we review the largely forgotten Star Wars prequel that came out last spring. Unlike the new trilogy, or even Rouge One, this film was inexplicably moved out of the new winter release and sandwiched in a busy Superhero/Jurassic World summer season.
This film follow the story of a young Han Solo, and is supposed to provide a background story for the beloved reluctant hero. Do Alden Ehrenreich and Hollywood/Hip Hop darling Donald Glover do justice to the characters that would later be portrayed by Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams respectively? Listen to our latest episode and find out!

Long live the King.
Did Warner Bros. learn their lesson after they failed to give us Walter White vs. Godzilla in 2014?
Mostly. This time they bring in Coach Taylor, Mrs. Bates, and Eleven.
This film picks up 5 years after Godzilla and the M.U.T.O.s leveled San Francisco in Gareth Edward's re-introduction of the Japanese icon. This time director Michael Dougherty brings back the full roster of classic Toho monsters for this modern throwback to Showa Era Godzilla films.
Join your hosts for this loose, unedited discussion of Godzilla: King of the Monsters and thank you again for your patience with our hectic schedule!

This episode is breaking my heart
We have arrived at the conclusion of the prequel trilogy written and directed by George Lucas. Gone is the Jar Jar, Sand monologues, and Padme's importance to this franchise. The Republic becomes a Galactic Empire under Senator Palpatine, who becomes its Emperor.
This film picks up at the end of the Clone Wars and completes Anakin Skywalker's fall from chosen one to the iconic villain, Darth Vader. Join your hosts as they take a trip to the volcanic planet of Mustafar and fight each other.... Or they just review Star Wars Episode III.

Godzilla (2014)

This podcast is gonna send us back to the stone age!
In 2014 Gareth Edwards, coming off the success of his beloved micro-budget film debut, Monsters (2010) was tapped to re-adapt Godzilla for American audiences after the disastrous 1998 adaptation. In this film Godzilla comes to San Francisco to battle two insect like monsters known as M.U.T.O.s (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism).
Co-starring with the big green monster was Brian Cranston fresh off of Breaking Bad, and Aaron Taylor Johnson of kickass fame, this film re-invented the world famous kaiju and set up an entire cinematic MonsterVerse.
In this episode we discuss the different eras of the Godzilla series, how this film ties to Kong: Skull Island (2017), the Toho Japanese reboot Shin Godzilla (2016), and we discuss the unmade American Godzilla that was to be released in 1994.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
Saturday May 18, 2019
Saturday May 18, 2019
After the largely despised Episode I, George Lucas attempts a course correction in his Star Wars prequel series. The role of Anakin Skywalker is recast to then promising newcomer Hayden Christensen, Jar Jar Binks is reduced to little more than a cameo, and there is a greater focus on straining Padawan/Jedi master relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Did these changes make a great difference? And how will this movie hold up to it's memory for us? Please join us as we return to a Galaxy far, far away in our ongoing Do We Like Star Wars? Review series.

This is your podcast show hosts speaking,
2007 was a year of great films. The Departed, No Country for Old Men, and There Will Be Blood we’re the movie heavyweights of this year, but in the spring David Fincher released a somewhat forgotten masterpiece starring Jake Gyllenhaal as the San Francisco Chronicle cartoonist who became obsessed with catching the Zodiac Killer.
Before Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr. were anchoring the Marvel Cinematic Universe as The Hulk and Iron Man respectively, they were part of this stellar cast of investigators trying to solve the greatest mystery in Bay Area history.

Plot Synopsis from IMDB:
As imminent conflict brews between the powerful Trade Federation and the peaceful planet of Naboo, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi travel to Naboo to warn the Queen of the galactic fallout which is to follow. Eventually, Naboo is invaded forcing the Jedi to evacuate the planet with the Queen and her court. They travel to the desert planet of Tatooine where they meet a slave boy named Anakin Skywalker who is evidently one with the Force. They enlist his help in fighting the war, while the Jedi confront one of the Dark Jedi behind the invasion, Darth Maul, while his master Darth Sidious continues to lead the invasion as a "phantom" behind the scenes.
