We return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first of two Black Panther films starting with Ryan Coogler's 2018 superhero epic. The late Chadwick Boseman stars as the titular hero and king of the fictional African nation who must ascend to the throne after the death of his father in Captain America: Civil War (2016). Among those looking to challenge his reign is the dynamic villain Erik Killmonger played by Michael B. Jordan. Join us as we fangirl over the work of Ryan Coogler and revisit this cultural touchstone that also has the great distinction of being the first and only Marvel film to score a Best Picture Oscar nomination.
